We are coming together to raise funds to help bring our dear friend and coworker, Danna Recuero, home. Danna was unexpectedly apprehended by ICE under deeply questionable circumstances, and she is currently being held while her family waits in anguish. What makes this situation even more heartbreaking is who Danna is—not just as a worker, but as a human being. Danna is a beloved wife and a devoted mother to two beautiful little girls, just 12 and 6 years old, who are desperately waiting for their mom to come home. Every day that passes without her is a day filled with confusion, fear, and tears for children who should be wrapped in their mother’s arms, not wondering when—or if—they will see her again.

Those of us who work with Danna know her as someone who is kind, hardworking, and always willing to help others. She shows up every day with integrity and heart, providing for her family and contributing positively to her community. She is not a threat. She is not a statistic. She is a mother, a wife, and a friend.
