Help Bring Christmas Joy to Stephanie’s Children
Many people have reached out asking how they can help. This GoFundMe was created for one simple reason: to support Stephanie’s children during an unimaginable time, especially this Christmas.
Early Saturday morning, Paducah lost 31-year-old Stephanie Stacey Whitnel in a tragic act of domestic violence. Stephanie was taken from this world far too soon, leaving behind children who now face the holidays without their mother.
Paducah Police responded after 3 a.m. to KC’s Bar and Grill, where witnesses reported that a man, later identified as 38-year-old Phillip Whitnel, entered the business and shot Stephanie multiple times before fleeing. Detectives determined the two had previously been in a relationship. Stephanie was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
While the legal process continues, two children are left behind trying to understand a loss no child should ever experience—especially during the holiday season.
This fundraiser is not about details or headlines.
It is about children who deserve warmth, comfort, and a sense of normalcy this Christmas.
All funds raised will go directly toward:
• Christmas gifts for the children
• Basic needs during the holiday season
• Support for the family as they navigate the days ahead
Nothing can replace a mother’s love. But together, as a community, we can show these children that they are not alone and that Paducah stands with them.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser. Every share matters. Every act of kindness matters.
Transparency & Fund Distribution
All funds raised through this GoFundMe will go directly to Stephanie’s children and rightful family members. A dedicated donation bank account will be created locally for the children and family to ensure the money is handled responsibly and used solely for their benefit. Full transparency will be maintained so supporters can trust that their donations are going where they are intended.
Thank you for your compassion, your prayers, and your support during this heartbreaking time.
