Our journey to bring Bradley Olufemi Waer home has been filled with hope, faith, and perseverance. My wife and I met four years ago, each bringing teenagers into our new blended family. After marrying three years ago, we dreamed of having one more child together. When natural attempts didn’t succeed, we turned to IVF and surrogacy in Nigeria. I traveled there in April 2024, and after several setbacks, our final embryo was implanted in December. Bradley was born in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, on August 23rd, 2025. My wife was present for his birth, and I joined her a week later, ready to bring our son home. However, unexpected hurdles arose. Despite multiple visits to US embassies in Lagos and Abuja, we were told Bradley couldn’t come home until DNA testing confirmed his citizenship. This process, meant to prevent child trafficking, forced us to change flights, take unpaid leave, and spend unplanned time in Nigeria. Ultimately, we had to return to the US without Bradley, starting the DNA process immediately. Bradley’s DNA swab is scheduled for November 19th, and his passport should be ready by mid to late December. We’ve saved for our flights, but holiday prices have soared, and the extra expenses from our extended stay and missed work have left us unable to afford the tickets. Our only option is to wait until January, but every day apart is painful. Bradley is healthy and well cared for, but he belongs with his family.

Bradley is the sibling who represents the blessing of two families coming together. My youngest son Jacob is eager to be a big brother, and my stepdaughters Olivia and Jasmin can’t wait to shower him with love. They’ve only met him through Facetime and photos, and they long to have him home for Christmas, to bond and welcome him into our family. Bradley is separated from the people who love him most, and we are asking for help to reunite our family as soon as possible. Your support will help us cover the cost of airline tickets so we can bring Bradley home, where he belongs.
