Help Bring Baby Georgia Gonzalez Home
Donation protected
Below you will hear the events that led to Matt and Kat's baby being born prematurely while on a trip in Cancun last week. Now they are having issues getting the baby a social security number in order to bring the baby (who is doing well) back into the country. The costs of the situation are adding up and taking a toll on the family and your donation will help to cover the enormous medical costs and the fees associated with bringing their newborn baby into this country.
Here is their story in Kat's own words:
So, crazy story. Matt and I arrived in Mexico on Wednesday around 2 PM. On Thursday around 5 AM I went into labor and at 28 weeks and 5 days our sweet baby girl arrived in ambulance as we pulled into hospital around 7:45 AM. She is healthy, but with a baby so early her lungs and breathing were the biggest concern. On Thursday she was given surfectant, responded well, and transferred to another hospital in Cancun. Docs there said she has the lungs of a 33-week-old and X-rays showed improvement in oxygen in her lungs from time of arrival to hours later. Fast forward to FRIDAY and this girl was breathing on her own!! She is doing well today and doctor says she is strong. She has been breathing on her own for 24 hours now. God is a God of miracles! We have seen Him orchestrate EVERY detail since the moment I went into labor - from the timing of delivery to the Physicians and Nurses taking care of us. I have had a peace that surpasses all understanding. Through the entire labor and delivery I heard Him say to me multiple times, "Do not be afraid, I am with you." And He has been! He has given me peace about Baby Girl and I know she is His child and He is taking care of her. If she remains stable and breathing on her own (we have no reason to believe she won't reamin this way bc she is so strong) she will be medically transported back to home on Monday. We are beyond grateful for the army of people we have praying for us as well as those who have helped us figure out how to bring her home safely. The NASB family here with us in Mexico have been absolutely amazing -y'all truly are family! Each of you should know that God is hearing and responding to your prayers so please continue to pray. Our prayer for her is that He breathes life into her, that He sustains her, and that He makes her strong! I wanted to express our gratefulness for all of those who have reached out and made us feel so loved and cared for - we love each of you!! And Matt, y'all should see him get stuff done! He is truly a warrior! He has been incredible thruout this and I am so thankful he is my husband and the father of my children! Love to each of you! Will try to keep y'all updated! -Kat Gonzalez
