Help Bring Art to Our Newark Community

Hello!

We are a student-run program working to foster connections in our community through art. Our goal is to provide a safe space for people to express their creativity and relieve their stress. We believe that art is a powerful tool for joy, and everyone deserves to have access to it.

Since June 2024, we have conducted art workshops at Sean’s House, a local mental health haven located on Main Street in Newark, Delaware. We’ve been able to share different forms of art, such as watercolors, acrylic paints, clay, oil pastels, and charcoal with the Newark community thanks to our dedicated members and Sean’s House peers.

Continuing forward, we would like to expand our project to more locations. We want to bring art workshops to nursing homes, shelters, and hospitals across Newark and surrounding areas to provide more people with the ability to express their creativity and feel supported!

Although our project originally began with a grant from the Delaware Youth Leadership Network, we are currently operating on our personal art supplies and money to provide materials for our workshops. On average, a workshop for 10 people costs about $30. However, if we are able to expand to more locations, this cost would likely be higher. We have conducted 14 workshops so far.

If you are able, we would greatly appreciate your contribution to our mission of sharing art with our community! We are thankful for anything that you are able to donate. If you aren’t able to give, we would also be grateful if you could spread the word about our project to anyone who can donate, participate in our workshops, or connect us to more locations.

Thank you so much for your support!
