My name is Gianna Haros Curiel, and our family is reaching out during one of the most difficult and unexpected moments of our lives. On the day of our marriage-based immigration interview—what should have been the final step toward obtaining approval for my husband’s residency—Jesus Abraham Haros was suddenly and unlawfully detained by ICE due to an overstay on his visiting visa.

This type of detention during an active immigration process is extremely rare, and it has devastated our family emotionally, financially, and spiritually. We had already provided extensive evidence, and we have now officially been approved as a marriage in good faith. Yet, despite this progress, Abraham is still being held, and our case cannot move forward without the immediate help of an experienced immigration attorney.

We are creating this GoFundMe to raise $10,000, which will go directly towards securing legal representation from a specialized immigration attorney, managing Abraham’s removal proceedings, fighting for his release to come home and obtain his rightful residency.

This fundraiser is not about asking for money for ourselves… every dollar is dedicated to Abraham’s legal case and the urgent fight to bring him home.
