Help bring a sibling home for V!
Donation protected
Hello! We are Maggie and Christopher, and we've begun fundraising to help offset costs for the adoption of another child. We were lucky to have our own biological child who has filled our lives with so much joy and energy (a LOT of energy. And a lot of information about navy ships)- but now we're ready to add to our family. We decided that based on our age, the age of our child, and my own heritage, we'd like to go through with an international adoption of a child from Ecuador.
I...(this is Maggie) thought about writing something about my experiences and memories of seeing extreme poverty growing up but, to be honest, those stories really aren't appropriate for the internet or this ask. What is most important is that Christopher and I have decided that we want to start this journey and bring a child into our lives that would love us as their parents, love our child as their sibling, love our dogs as their dogs, love our cats as their cats, and is willing to tolerate all our chickens. (The chickens don't have to be theirs unless they want them. I won't force my unhealthy chicken habit on anyone.)
We acknowledge that children have been removed from impoverished families or abandoned by their families for a variety of reasons. It is not our place to judge the choices of those families and we recognize that for many, the choice was difficult. And while Christopher and I are able to financially support an additional child, the large costs associated with adoption- the fees to the agency, the home study, the background checks, the legal fees, the travel- are prohibitive. We all know that it takes a village to raise a child, but sometimes it takes a village to bring a child home.
Please consider helping in anyway you can. We're excited to grow our family and our community.
