This summer, I attended an internship in India where I visited a rural town in India called Allampally. The most memorable part of this experience was not the living conditions or the teachings; it was the kids I met. I volunteered and taught english, math and public speaking to these wonderful kids, yet I walked out of the internship with more knowledge than I could've ever given.

From the moment I entered Allampally, I was greeted by the purest and most innocent smiles. On the very first day, as soon as we interns stepped outside, we were swarmed by children. They ran to us, their faces glowing, eagerly shouting their names. Over the course of a week, I learned a lot about these students and the core values they maintain - leadership, honesty, inclusivity and determination. These children possess many talents with their dance, signing and speeches and they utilize every opportunity given to them. Their joy, courage, and selflessness are lessons I will carry with me for life.

These kids are just as dedicated and persistent to their education as Groton students are. With the money raised here, the kids will be given more opportunities to explore the arts and their passions. Please donate to give these children another chance.
