Hello, my name is Briana Wagner. I’m 19 years old, a Summit resident, and the proud single mother of my 7-month-old daughter, Zoey.

Life has been very difficult lately. Zoey’s father is no longer in the picture, and without childcare, I haven’t been able to work. I’ve been doing my best by selling things on Facebook Marketplace, but it’s slow and not nearly enough to cover our needs.

I am also a domestic violence survivor. For a while, my adoptive mother helped support us, but after a serious situation where she put her hands on me, she was charged, and we no longer have contact. Since then, she has cut us off completely. She used to provide financial help in exchange for us cleaning her house daily, walking her dogs, and handling chores, but when she left, she also cut off the WiFi and even caused the electricity to be shut off. I had to pay out of pocket to restore it.

Now, she has made it clear she wants nothing to do with me or her granddaughter, and unfortunately, she is in the process of getting us evicted. Zoey and I are currently searching for a new apartment, but starting over is really hard without steady income.

On top of this, I’ve been struggling with car trouble. I need help paying for gas, repairs, registration, and insurance so I can keep us moving and eventually get back to work. We also need help with food and baby formula. Zoey has a hard time with powdered Similac Sensitive, so she mainly drinks the premade 8 oz bottles, which are very expensive. Sometimes she’ll take the powdered formula if I mix it, but we run out quickly.

I know many people go through hard times, and asking for help isn’t easy. But I’m reaching out because I just want to keep going for Zoey. Any support—big or small—will help us stay afloat while I work on creating a stable life for my daughter.
