My life changed in an instant. Just a few hours after a breakup, I found myself without a home and nowhere to turn. I’ve always tried to handle things on my own, but this time, I ended up on the street, struggling to find a safe place to stay. Every day since then has been a challenge, but I’m determined to get back on my feet and rebuild what I lost.

Recently, I found a one-bedroom apartment in Ellsworth, Maine that could be the fresh start I need. The only thing standing in my way is the security deposit—I’m still short of being able to pay it. I want more than anything to have a roof over my head again, especially with the holidays coming up. My biggest wish is to give my son a wonderful Christmas and not spend it homeless or in danger.

This is the first time I’ve ever asked for help, and it’s not easy for me to do. But I’m reaching out because I truly need support right now.
