Help Brett reunite with loved ones

Please help my dear friend Brett to reunite with his beautiful loved ones.

I've know Brett as his best friend for almost 30 years. We have been school mates, house mates, travel buddies, and in more recent years parents of our own respective children who have grown up together.

In 2017, Brett became a single dad when his girls were still very young, adapting immediately as a primary caregiver, raising them on a 50/50 care basis (and more during school holidays). His oldest daughter on the eve of turning 2yo and his youngest just 9 months old.

As a father, like his role as a teacher and leader, raising and supporting children of all ages and backgrounds has is a passion and purpose for him. Something that clearly comes naturally and gives him great joy. He's more than just a great father but an inspiring one, and anyone whose had the privilege of seeing them in action know how close and special a bond they share.

At the same time, Brett has been a teacher and school leader for the past 20 years. One of those teachers you remember as an absolute legend. A real mentor and community leader who genuinely cares. Always.

In 2023, Brett accused of a heinous act that threatened the lives and safety of his loved ones. This news would prove to be the most devastating upsetting event of his life. One he vehemently denied.

An investigation by Victoria Police and Child Protective Services concluded the accusations to be unfounded and he was cleared of all criminal wrongdoing. During the same period, Brett proactively employed a forensic psychologist who supported the conclusion that Brett posed no risk to his loved ones.

This is not what happened. Brett has been caught up the court system for almost two years now. Despite this travesty, Brett has remained patient in his support and understanding of the legal process.

All of this comes with an extreme financial cost. Understandably, the ongoing stress of this case has also taken a toll on Brett's physical health. At the same time as legal proceedings began, Brett was hosptialised with a chronic illness that has left him unable to work for several months These pressures have left him unable to pay for rent, the required medical attention he requires, or to see out the final legal stages.

For those who know Brett, please help in any way you can. For those who don't, please respect this is not a political issue. The judge will decide the right and relevant outcome. This is simply about the opportunity for a father to have his case heard.
