Help Brenda be with her daughter again!

My name is Brenda Bongcam and I am a 42-year-old Colombian woman who amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and suffering from the pain of losing my father, was deceived by my own sister with the complicity of Colombian Government officials. My sister kidnapped my 11-year-old daughter Greta Bongcam and took her to Switzerland, the country where she resides. In doing so, she denies me the right to be her loving mother and prevents my daughter from being with her only immediate family member.

I decided to travel to Spain to find a solution to my current situation. Presently, I am in Las Palmas and I must travel by sea to Cádiz. From there, I plan to continue travelling by land for two days until I reach Sweden, a European country where women’s rights are more respected and where I have been offered the chance to request protection and assistance to recover my daughter.

As a single mother who is solely focused on regaining custody of my daughter, this

opportunity is crucial for me.

My main goal is to bring attention to my situation. I was deceived and have suffered greatly due to being denied the right to be with my daughter and to watch her grow as a family.

People must know how Colombian government officials, who were supposed to ensure the rights of children and families, violated my rights by conspiring with my sister. Additionally, I want to shed light on how the Swiss government violates my rights and my daughter's rights by allowing her to remain in that country without my permission under false pretenses. Originally, I granted authorization for her to leave Colombia on December the 1st 2019 to visit my sister for three months. I later authorized her visit to be extended for an additional period of three months.

Despite this, her planned return in mid-2020 didn’t happen and, to this date, my daughter remains in Switzerland. What's even more worrisome is that the communication between us has been completely cut off.

Faced with this latent violation of my fundamental rights and those of my daughter, I went to the Legal Office of the "Universidad de los Andes" in Bogota - Colombia, It was there that I found help with the formulation of various petitions requesting the return of my daughter and the restoration of her rights to be with her mother, to have a family and be in her country of origin, among others. These requests were sent to the Swiss Government which in turn responded with a letter stating that my daughter is in better conditions there and happy with her new foster family; thus retaining her in Switzerland against my wishes and my daughter wishes, even though my daughter is not a Swiss national and therefore supporting my sister's arbitrary decision. What both my sister and the Swiss government have done is snatch my daughter.

I would like to clarify that for reasons of force majeure, I must use the aforementioned transport means and route. This is why I am asking for assistance. My goal is to reach Sweden by any means possible so that I can receive the necessary help to restore my daughter's and my rights. I require a minimum of £1000 to cover the transportation costs by land and sea to get to Sweden and continue the fight to recover my daughter, any extras will cover stays, food and any eventuality that could occur on my journey. I plan to show evidence confirming my daughter's exit and the letter that the Swiss Government sent to remove my daughter from me so the facts of this difficult and painful situation are recorded.

I will be immensely grateful to those showing empathy towards me and who are willing to provide financial support. As a woman heading a family whose rights have been violated, as I previously mentioned, my only goal is to seek justice so that my daughter and I can be reunited, so I can hug and care my daughter as I always did.

Me llamo Brenda Bongcam, soy una mujer colombiana de 42 años, quien en medio de la pandemia de COVID-19 y padeciendo del dolor de la pérdida de mi padre, fui engañada por mi hermana con complicidad de funcionarios del Gobierno Colombiano. Mi hermana, quién reside en Suiza, me quitó a mi hija Greta Bongcam que ahora tiene once años y se la llevó a su país de residencia. Al hacer eso, me ha negado el derecho a ser su madre y ha evitado que mi hija esté con su único familiar directo.

En la búsqueda de soluciones, decidí viajar a España. Actualmente me encuentro en Las Palmas y debo realizar un viaje marítimo hasta Cádiz para de allí transportarme por vía terrestre durante dos días hasta Suecia, país europeo dónde se respetan más los derechos de las mujeres y dónde se me ha dado posibilidad de solicitar protección y ayuda. Esta es una oportunidad crucial para mi, al ser una madre soltera que lo único que busca es recuperar a su hija.

Lo que principalmente quiero es que mi caso se conozca, que se sepa cómo fui engañada además de lo que he sufrido al haberse negado para mi y mi hija el derecho de estar juntas, a estar en familia, al que mi hija se desarrolle integralmente junto a mí. Quiero que conozcan como en Colombia funcionarios de las entidades encargadas de velar por los derechos de la niñez y de las familias vulneraron mis derechos en complicidad con mi hermana. Quiero que se sepa cómo el gobierno Suizo ha vulnerado mis derechos y los de mi hija al permitir que ella siga retenida en ese país sin mi autorización. Inicialmente, yo di autorizacion para que mi hija saliera de Colombia el primero de diciembre de 2019 y viajara con mi hermana para estar de visita por vacaciones solo por tres meses. Tiempo después autoricé prorrogar esa estancia por otros tres meses; sin embargo, su regreso planeado a mediados de 2020 no sucedió y a la fecha mi hija permanece en Suiza. Aún más preocupante para mi es que la comunicación entre ella y yo ha sido evitada completamente por parte de mi hermana.

Frente a esta latente vulneración a mis derechos fundamentales y los de mi hija, acudí al Consultorio Jurídico de la "Universidad de los Andes" de Bogota-Colombia, donde me apoyaron con la formulación de diversas peticiones solicitando la devolución de mi hija y el restablecimiento de sus derechos a estar con su madre, a tener una familia y a estar en su país de origen, entre otros. Estas solicitudes fueron enviadas al Gobierno Suizo, quienes respondieron a través de una carta manifestando que mi hija "está en mejores condiciones y feliz en su nueva familia de acogida", reteniéndola así en Suiza, aún cuando mi hija no es de dicho país y apoyando la decisión arbitraria de mi hermana, que lo único que hizo fue secuestrar a mi hija con la complicidad del gobierno de Suiza.

Cabe aclarar que por causas de fuerza mayor debo usar los medios de transporte y ruta mencionados anteriormente. Por esa razón pido ayuda para llegar por cualquier medio a Suecia, y solicitar allí el apoyo necesario para que se restablezcan los derechos de mi hija y los míos. En este sentido solicito ayuda para conseguir minimo £1000, esta cifra cubre el costo del transporte terrestre y marítimo para llegar hasta Suecia, cualquier donacion extra sera utilizada para gastos alimenticios, de estadia y para cubrir cualquier eventualidad, y allí continuar con mi lucha por recuperar a mi amada hija. Planeo mostrar la firma de salida de mi hija y la carta que el Gobierno Suizo me envió para despojarme de mi hija para que quede constancia de los hechos que forman parte de esta difícil y dolorosa situación.

A todos las personas que empaticen y me ofrezcan ayuda financiera, les estaré eternamente agradecida. Yo como mujer, madre y cabeza de familia a quién sus derechos le han sido vulnerados conforme lo he narrado, sólo busco justicia y que mi hija esté de nuevo a mi lado para abrazarla y darle el amor que nos merecemos juntas.
