Dear community,

We are writing to you from the fourth floor of Brauni, a house project in Neukölln. Brauni has been an open and diverse space, a home for around 50 people. Right now, our community is facing a crisis, and we urgently need your support.

We are currently grieving the tragic and unexpected loss of one of our flatmates. This has been a devastating blow to our stability and mental health, compounding a year that has already been particularly difficult for most of us.

Our situation is complex: Of the 11 people living on our floor, only two are European citizens. The rest of us are dependent on visas and/or find ourselves in vulnerable situations.

In the midst of our grief, we are facing two immense challenges:

1. The financial burden has become unsustainable. We are struggling to cover our own rents, while also covering the rent for our late friend's room, on top of accumulated debt.

2. Our home has a deadline. The Brauni house project is coming to an end in August next year, which forces us into a difficult search for a new place to live.

If we cannot cover the current debt, we risk making homeless people who have nowhere else to go, especially those living in the zero-cost "soli-rooms" whom we must relocate.

This is why we are asking for your urgent help. We need to raise €4,000 by the end of December to stabilize our situation and ensure no one loses their home.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a huge difference in the lives of 11 people going through a time of profound vulnerability.
