Support Madison as she fights aftermath of Mono
I'm not sure how to begin this story, Should I go full Bridgeton and open with "dearest gentle reader"? probably not, I suppose I will start with a simple Hello I'm Brandy McNinch, and the amazing young woman in the bio photo with me is my daughter Madison (my 15-year-old son Logan is the one taking the picture). Over the past six months my little family of three has faced numerous challenges. I would like to think that we have handled this through love, strength, tenacity, and most of all support. Support both physically, and emotionally given by my community, family, and friends. It is in this same spirit that I am hopeful to gain support again from my family, friends, and community.
Over the past three my daughter Madison has been in and out of the Emergency Room/Hospital as numerous doctors tried to figure out what was causing her illnesses. In August she had been diagnosed with Streph, liver failure , Pnemonia, and after being admitted to the hospital the underlying culprit.. Epstein-Barr virus (Commonly referred to as Mono.) This virus has plowed its way through Madison's body, attacking her liver, her muscles, lungs, and spleen, throat, causing migraines, exhaustion, and neurological deficits resulting in her needing a cane to walk, and kissing feeling in her left leg. We don't yet understand the full spectrum if what this virus has done to her. The only solution to Mono is rest, physical therapy twice a week, trying medications, and close monitoring by her doctors. . She has a very long road of recovery ahead of her. My leave will soon end and I will be returning to work, however Madison will still be fighting the neurological damage mono has caused. She will remain out of work until further notice and will need help paying for her car payment, insurance, student loans well into the end of the year. it's nearly impossible for me to take on her added bills going forward. I hope that anyone reading this story will choose to help my family as we navigate the uncertain road that lies before us. All we can do is stay strong, stay positive, and rely on the proven statement that Everything Will Work out in the end. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I am forever humbled and Grateful to you all.
Sincerely,
Brandy, Madison, and Logan.
