My name is Brandon Plunkett. I married my wife, Lauren, in March of this year. On that day, I became a father to 5 children, 3 of whom are under 18. The two youngest are 4 (Ivy) and 6 (Ian).

We moved to Las Vegas about a month ago so that we could be closer to the kids. We currently have joint custody of the younger two.

About a day after we moved to Vegas, Lauren's ex-husband served us with a summons. He filed for emergency sole custody of the children. He claims that we are over medicating the kids.

The kids have both been diagnosed by the doctors with reactive airway disease,

as well as asthma. The standard treatment is to use an inhaler of albuteral. The doctors prescribed albuteral to both kids as needed. The father of the children does not believe they have RAD OR ASTHMA,

and he claims that by us giving the kids the treatment when they need it, that we over medicate them. When we are following the doctors orders. We have gotten a letter from the doctor stating that the kids do in fact have rad and asthma (which I am going to attach to the fund raiser) but he told us very specifically, to not try to fight her ex in court without a lawyer. We are running out of time to hire a lawyer. We have found a lawyer that is a good fit, and is willing to take it on.

But we do not have the money, nor do we have a way of coming up with the money that quickly,

I'm currently trying to sell everything I own of any value, but it's a lengthy process. And I don't even know if I can come up with it in that way.

We cannot afford to hire a lawyer. It's going to cost $5000 to retain a lawyer. That would cover everything that needs to be done leading up to, and including, the first hearing.

I have tried every avenue I could think of to come up with the money on our own but have been unsuccessful.

I am at a loss, and this is a bit of a hail mary.

We need to come up with $5000 within the next couple of weeks. So if anybody is able to help us out with this, I would, and my wife would be extremely grateful. Thank you.
