I was born and raised in Reno, Nevada, and life hasn’t always been easy. My father struggled with addiction, and my mom was often in relationships that made things unstable at home. Recently, things took a turn for the worse when her husband kicked me out of the house. In the process, he physically assaulted me—pushing, shoving, and beating me up. Now, I find myself with nowhere to go, trying to figure out my next steps and looking for a way to get back on my feet.

Right now, I’m doing everything I can to improve my situation. I’ve been applying for jobs and have several interviews lined up, but living on the street makes it incredibly hard. I don’t have a place to shower or keep my belongings, and every day is a struggle just to stay safe and warm. These funds would help me get off the street and into a safe place—whether it’s an apartment or any shelter—so I can focus on building a better future.

I’m 18, almost 19, and I’m still learning about life. I haven’t had much to rely on, but I’m trying my best to move forward. Even though I don’t have a lot, I always try to support others when I can.
