Help Bora Get to Work

Donation protected
At 8 years old, Bora was forced to flee for her life after seeing her parents and 5 year old brother murdered during ethnic cleansing of the Second Congo War. With her surviving brother, aged 12, and sister, aged 10, Bora survived for three months in the forest of Congo. They crossed the border to Rwanda, then Uganda. They walked hundreds of miles, enduring hunger, rape and the constant threat of violence before finally making their way to a refugee camp in Ethiopia. In the overcrowded camp there was food, but not safety for three kids with no adults to care for or protect them.

Finally in 2014, Bora and her children were settled in Rochester NY.

As a single mother of three, Bora is fighting to become financially independent. Her kids are now in school or day care, and Bora is eager to join the work force. She needs a car to get to work, and to care for her kids.

Please help Bora get a car to put her on the road to independence.
