My name is Bonnie, and I am asking for help for my family: my husband and me, my daughter and son-in-law, and our three precious grandchildren. We moved from Oregon to Idaho in 2018 for work and believed we would quickly find stable housing, but life took a very different turn. After job changes and my growing health issues, we ended up in an extended stay motel. The monthly cost has made it impossible to save for a home, and I am also carrying more than $48,000 in medical bills while seeing five specialists. We are in our 60s and doing everything we can, but we are now one step away from homelessness ourselves.

At the same time, my daughter and her family lost their place in Oregon when the property was sold. They were already living paycheck to paycheck, and the motels they turned to were so expensive that they were going without food just to keep a roof over their heads. I did what I could and sent money for food when I could not bear the thought of my grandchildren being hungry, but now they have run out of options. Shelters are full, and they are facing being on the street. How your support will help:
