Help Boitumelo complete her home in Botswana

Hello, my name is Meghan, and I have created this fundraiser to help my friend Boitumelo Mosole complete her home in Modipane, Botswana.

My colleagues and friends raised money in 2019 to help her start building her home. She was able to complete the foundation and walls, but she has not been able to continue since then due to the rising cost of materials and her limited income, used entirely for supporting her family. We are all witnessing the rising costs of living, and Botswana has not been immune to these global impacts.

I met Boitumelo in 2017 in Gaborone, Botswana. I was working for ENKON Information Systems, a strategic partner of the Government of Botswana, to develop and implement a Land Information System for the Ministry of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services. Land Management is one of the strategic objectives for the Government of Botswana, as a means to enhance and drive the socio-economic development of the country. One of the outcomes and major benefits of land management in Botswana is the allocation of tribal land to qualified Motswana’s in order to provide citizens with the opportunity to build and own their own homes.

Boitumelo is one of the recipients of a land allocation. Until 2020 she had put aside as much of her income as possible to purchase materials, but unfortunately a global pandemic and the rising cost of living has stalled her progress. Our previous fundraiser was a huge success, and I would like help her realize her dream, so she and her beautiful family can enjoy the security and comfort of owing a home.
