Help Bodhi and His Family Fight Cancer

Bodhi was living his best life as an energetic 18 month old when he tested positive for covid in August, but that wasn't the worst of it. He was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, his treatment started right away and his life as a thriving toddler changed as well as for his family. All of the sudden Bodhi and mom were living in a hospital and his siblings were at home being taken care of by their grandmother (me) and dad. The Disneyworld trip that had been planned for months - canceled in a matter of minutes as they went from packing luggage for their vacation to packing bags for the hospital.

 

Treatment for AML requires long hospital stays at least 28 days each round. Bodhi is currently in a clinical trial for children under the age of 2 with Down syndrome and AML, he receives no compensation for this as their not many resources for childhood cancer research funding. Bodhi's family does have insurance but it does not cover all copays and other expenses the family has been given. Bodhi's treatment plan includes 4 rounds of chemotherapy that present different side-effects and problems for him. The family has had to use their savings in order to live in two places (hospital and home) gas, food, things for Bodhi and mom at the hospital, incidentals, etc... And of course the hospital bill after insurance has covered their part!

 

Bodhi is currently in remission, but has a life long battle ahead of him. He is currently in round 4 and receiving chemotherapy, unfortunately Bodhi will be in the hospital for Christmas. After this last hospital stay he will have to visit the oncology clinic for maintenance monthly. Your support would mean so much as that would be one less thing this family has to worry about.
