Help Bobby Manning Return Home After Stroke

Most of you know by now, my dad, Bobby Manning, had a stroke which is affecting his ability to use the right side of his body along with causing memory issues and confusion. He’s now at a rehab and man oh mighty, are we grateful for that. He gets PT, OT, and speech therapy daily, and he’s been motivated to do the work. Our family's goal is to get him back home, to the mountain, the place he loves the most. As you might suspect, our family home is not wheelchair accessible. There is a lot of work that will need to go into making the path accessible, which might look like hiring some of it out or asking our amazing community for a few work parties, or both. Dad also has a need for a new bed that is high enough to transfer out of. Those are the two immediate needs as dad is currently expected to discharge from rehab on 6/28.

So many of you have contributed tremendously already via homemade meals, DoorDash gift cards, and love & support. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Keep an eye out for upcoming work party dates if you’re able to lend equipment, dig a shovel, volunteer with a truck, or help in any way to excavate and lay a flagstone pathway.
