Bob is my elderly neighbor who is currently being displaced from his home. He’s recently had both knee and hip replacements, which means he hasn’t been able to work. Normally, Bob does odd jobs like landscaping, maintenance work, and house painting. He’s spent much of his life planting trees and caring for the world around him. Now, he is at a very high risk of becoming homeless.
Bob is one of the most compassionate and caring people I’ve ever met, and most who have met him would agree. Despite his circumstances, he maintains a positive outlook on life and never complains. He loves animals and people, enjoys reading and being outside, and is always the first to offer help to anyone in need. However, his situation is very dire—he is on social security and we are trying to find somewhere for him and his cat, Bella, to live. The Section 8 voucher waiting list is closed and we are running out of options. Bob and Bella are at risk of ending up on the street.
If we can collect enough funds to pay for the first few months of a new apartment, Bob will be able to land on his feet. Anything helps—even leads to low-income housing that don’t require Section 8, or sharing this with your friends and neighbors. Thank you for considering helping Bob and Bella during this difficult time.
