Help Black and Queer Artist Open Tattoo Studio

Donation protected
Hello everyone, this is a fundraiser for my dear partner Yemayá aka Faceityem (they/them). Yem grew up in City Heights, SD, CA and has been a mixed media artist for 18+ years now and a tattoo artist since 2021. After earning their Bachelors in Journalism with a minor in African American Studies from Loyola Marymount University in 2021, they were displaced due to the pandemic and have since resided in San Diego, CA. They are a full-time tattoo artist and everything has lined up for them to open a private studio, just a few miles from where they grew up, and they are in dire need of our help and funds to make this dream come to life.

There is a desperate need for Black tattoo artists, specifically Black and queer artists in San Diego. The tattoo industry in the United States has upheld white supremacy, misogyny, and homophobia, and artists like Yem deserve a space where care, consent, intentionality, and healing are at the forefront. They have consistently shown up for their peers and community in and out of their practice and they deserve the space to continue to do so.

You could help a Black and queer artist open their private studio in San Diego, CA, making it the FIRST in this city.

If you would prefer to send funds via pay apps, below is that information, along with the links to book a tattoo appointment as well as their shop:
