Hi all, I am trying to raise money for Betty, who is like a little sister to me. Betty is pregnant with her first child due in July, and she is going to be a single mom. A few months ago, Betty was let go from her job. She was working with youth with behavioral health disabilities, and she wouldn’t follow policies that required her to hold down and restrain kids unnecessarily. Because she was trying to protect those kids, she lost her health insurance and her paid parental leave. Betty is working odd jobs now, but it’s difficult for her to get hired because she is obviously pregnant. She is already living paycheck to paycheck, and she doesn’t know what she will do when she has the baby and has no income while she recovers and nobody to help with child care.

Unfortunately I can’t manage to cover these costs myself to help keep Betty and her newborn from losing their apartment and having to move to a homeless shelter. We should live in a country where hardworking single moms like Betty can get the help they need from the government, but we don’t. So can you help???
