I’m reaching out with an incredible opportunity on the horizon and a heartfelt request for your support. My name is Bethany Boring, and I was born with CHARGE Syndrome—a rare genetic condition that has shaped my journey in ways both challenging and beautiful. This July, the CHARGE Syndrome Foundation Conference is being held in Phoenix, Arizona, and I have the amazing chance to attend, share my story, and present my children’s book, “The Joy Catcher.”

Why This Means So Much to Me

“The Joy Catcher” is more than just a book—it’s a piece of my heart. It’s a story I’ve written and Lowri Williams (connected with the CHARGE Syndrome family living in the UK) illustrated to inspire joy, resilience, and hope, especially for those in the CHARGE community. This book is dedicated to the foundation that has supported me and countless others like me throughout our lives. Sharing it at this conference feels like coming full circle—a chance to give back to the community that has meant so much to me.

As a single mom of three incredible boys, I know firsthand the importance of resilience and joy. After overcoming so many personal challenges, I now run my own mental health coaching business, where I help others discover their voices and share their stories. Attending this conference isn’t just about my journey; it’s about empowering others in the CHARGE community to find their strength and joy as well.
