This Go Fund Me is to support Beth Gillis Granger with the publishing and promotion of her memoir; Born and Razed. Many of you know that Beth was a representative plaintiff in the class action lawsuit. She helped bring closure to hundreds of former students at Grenville Christian College and set precedence in Canadian law.
Beth was the first staff kid born at GCC. In her book, she writes about the pain, fear and loss that was both backdrop and center stage of daily life. She details her struggles learning how to live with trauma and move forward holding and healing the broken pieces of herself. She shares the pain of a life that was meant to break her down while being told it was to make her better.
Anyone who attended Grenville Christian College or lived at the Community of Jesus will find many points of connection. In addition, any who have been involved with high demand groups / cults will be able to relate. Beth’s experiences are common to many who have been involved in cults but her story is also singular. Many find the courage to leave, few have the courage to stand up to their abusers. This makes her story special.
Her memoir is complete and has been accepted for publication by a prestigious hybrid press. Beth is still responsible for funding the publishing and promotion of her book. The money we raise will help pay the publishing company and hire a publicist. Beth paid dearly over the last 15 years to see the lawsuit through to the end. This Go Fund Me will support her in the most meaningful way possible. After years of being silenced, her voice will be heard.
Please consider giving, even small amounts will help. Thank you!
