On November 20, 2025, my sister and brother-in-law welcomed their beautiful baby boy, Bentley David Laidig, into the world. What should have been a joyful first chapter quickly turned frightening when, within just 24 hours, Bentley had to be quickly transported to the Children’s Hospital due to unexpected breathing complications. He is currently on oxygen and being closely monitored, while he’s in the best hands possible, this has been an overwhelming and emotional time for his new parents.

Although insurance will cover much of Bentley’s medical care, the sudden shift to hospital living brings many unexpected costs: hotel stays, meals, gas, parking, etc. These expenses add up quickly and create added stress during a time when their only focus should be on their newborn son’s recovery.
