We are the most blessed grandparents in the world. God has put in our life 8 amazing grandbabies. We are so very grateful.
Our third-born grandchild, Bentley Valdez, who is turning 14 on July 2nd, was just diagnosed with leukemia.
To say we are at a loss is an understatement, but we trust that God will strengthen Bentley's body and heal him.
As his mom, Veronica (our daughter), and his dad, Luis, navigate this scary and unfamiliar journey in their lives, we ask for your prayers and support. Veronica and Luis had a crazy start as a family and have fought hard to get to where they are today. That includes having Bentley and his little brother, Luis Jr. This family is amazing. Funny, fun to be around, smart, hardworking...
Bentley loves gaming and being with his family, including tons of cousins! He is smart and funny. He is quiet and loving. He is loud and crazy.
Bentley will be at Loma Linda Children's Hospital while he is getting the treatment he needs to win this battle. I ask, as a parent/grandparent, for your help. Veronica and Luis will be facing financial needs for travel, food, and temporary housing near the hospital, not to mention medical costs that will arise. Anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated and a blessing.
We know the days ahead will be long, uncomfortable, full of tears and smiles, but above all, filled with love and support from all of us. We ask our Lord to be with the Valdez family in their fight for healing.
Our God and our savior, help us get through these tough times.
Fortify our will to stay strong and optimistic.
Touch Bentley and each of us with your healing hands to ease the pain,
And let us all feel your divine presence for hope and strength.
Your love and compassion hold greater power than this illness.
We ask you for Bentley's healing and wellness.
In Jesus' name. Amen.
