Hey guys, I’m running the Malaga half marathon March 15th to raise money for an amazing friend who needs help with his treatment. I’ve put his story below any kind of donation is greatly appreciated.

Ben has been suffering from chronic health issues for more than 10 years. After years of misdiagnosis, trying every treatment route he could find, and even moving country twice in search of specialist care, he has finally found a path that is bringing him close to full healing. He has suffered with autoimmune diseases, heavy metal toxicity, systemic infections, liver and kidney disease, organ failure, seizures, mould poisoning and many other illnesses.

He is now so close to finishing his treatment and regaining his health. However, throughout this journey, he has received no government support. This is largely due to his original specialist in Tallaght Hospital refusing to sign him off for illness benefit, leaving him to carry the financial burden alone.

Ben can cover some of the remaining treatment costs, but not all of them. His family and friends have already done everything they possibly can and have been an incredible source of support. At this stage, he is turning to the wider community for help.

He is not in a position to ration the remaining treatments, as doing so would impact the overall outcome of his recovery. Asking for help is something he has only done now out of pure desperation, at the final stretch of a long and difficult journey.

Ben is deeply grateful to anyone who can support him in fully healing and getting his life back. He is committed to giving back to the community in every way he can once he is well again.
