I never thought I’d find myself in this position, but today I’m coming to you with a heartfelt request for help. Recently, I was terminated from my position with Shasta County after submitting a whistleblower report regarding an issue I believed warranted investigation. Within days of filing the report, I was placed on administrative leave and, after a lengthy investigation, was ultimately terminated.

This action not only feels retaliatory, but also unethical. I’ve always strived to do what’s right for our community, and yet, for standing up and speaking out, I’m now facing significant challenges. To make matters worse, my claim for unemployment benefits was denied under the pretext of “breaking an employer rule,” though there was no rule prohibiting me from submitting a whistleblower complaint.

I am now facing upcoming legal battles to defend myself and my actions, and I need support to cover my monthly bills until I can fully monetize my work on The North State Breakdown, which I believe serves as an important voice for our community.

For the past four years, I’ve dedicated myself to fighting for this community and making my voice heard on behalf of all of you. Now, I’m asking for your support in return.
