Ben's Eagle Scout Project for UUCYork - Pave the Way for ALL

Hello, my name is Ben Witmer and I am 16 years old and in Troop 94 and began in Scouts at age 7. My Eagle Scout project is at my church, UUCYork in York, PA. We have a brick labyrinth on the grounds that many besides our members enjoy visiting. Check out these labyrinth construction pictures. The labyrinth needs a pathway to make it accessible to all. My project is to add the needed path which will be about 140 feet long and 4 feet wide and handicapped accessible. When I went to the Church to ask what they most needed this was their main request. It is a big project for me but I feel lucky that many of the same people who built the labyrinth are willing to give me some guidance so I can do a good job and do something meaningful and needed for my church. I believe that my project exhibits the principles of scouting as my project is helping to make my community a better place.

I am grateful to Hanover Pavers who have donated the brick pavers needed which is a large part of the budget. I have started this fundraiser for the rest of the materials needed – the stone base, sand, edging and miscellaneous items which I estimate to be $1700. My goal is to build the new path this Summer. Any money fundraised which would exceed the needed amount will go to UUCYork as the beneficiary of this project. Please help me PAVE the WAY for ALL
