Not sure where to start, Ben Tollefson (our dad), his girlfriend Meghan Buck , and their two dogs, Leia and Tobie have had a rough year and need the financial help. June of 2023 my dad had his 2nd back surgery and was taken out of work for long term disability. Then December 1, 2023 he had an unexpected heart attack, after numerous tests and scans it’s still unclear why. That prevented him from going back to work even longer. During this past winter Meghan also had lymes disease and pneumonia . Dad finally got to return to work on restrictions and minimal hours for about 5 months. On June 27 2024 Meghan was involved in a near head on collision with a semi and was also taken out of work due to a TBI. She was out of work for about 2.5 weeks and returned on strict restrictions of just 16 hrs a week. About 3 weeks after the accident our grandpa had unexpected triple bypass surgery dad missed about a week of work to be with his dad. On August 13 2024 dad had a stroke… They are still unclear why that happened also. Because of his stoke he was out of work for another week and then went back with restrictions for minimum hours. In November his Dr decided to put him back on long term disability to allow his back a chance to fully heal enough for him to go back atleast part time. On top of everything that has already happened they had an apartment fire yesterday morning, They weren’t home and they had both dogs with them. Everything in the kitchen/ living room was ruined due to fire, heat, water and smoke. They had already done all of the Christmas decorating and it was all melted and ruined. The sprinklers went off and did what they needed to 6-8in of water fell. The upstairs got a lot of smoke damage and everything is covered in black soot and smells like smoke. They had most of the Christmas gifts already purchased and unsure of what is going to be salvageable. They will be living in a hotel for the next month if not longer. There are still a lot of unanswered questions and not sure what the future will bring. Any help is greatly appreciated and we thank everyone who has reached out and prayed for us during this hard time.
