Hi, my name is Jocelyn and my dad is a 62-year-old man who has spent nearly his entire adult life building a home, a family, and a small business in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
For over 25 years, Minneapolis has been his world. It’s where he worked tirelessly, raised a family, and poured his heart into a local deli and food truck called “Que Chula es Puebla.” His food truck is well known in the community, something he was incredibly proud of. Through his food, he shared his culture, his roots, and his love for the city that became his home.
On January 11, 2026, at 9:50 a.m., my dad was detained by ICE right outside his home. The entire incident was captured on Ring camera footage. In a matter of minutes, his life was turned upside down.
Despite being married to my step-mom, a US Citizen, and in the process of legalizing, he was taken.
My dad is sick and requires daily medication for liver issues and high blood pressure. Beyond the emotional toll, we are deeply concerned about his health and well-being during this process.
Like many families, we simply do not have the financial means to spend tens of thousands of dollars on lawyers with no clear resolution. His wish is to be sent back to Puebla, Mexico as soon as possible, where he can begin again—despite the fact that he has not been back in over 25 years.
At 62 years old, he is being asked to return to a country he no longer knows and rebuild his life from nothing. Minneapolis was his home. His community was here. His livelihood was here.
We are raising funds to help cover:
Medical needs and medications
Travel and relocation expenses
Basic living costs as he resettles in Mexico
Support for closing his business and handling urgent expenses
Any contribution—no matter the size—means more than we can express. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser also helps tremendously.
Thank you for taking the time to read my dad’s story and for standing with our family during one of the hardest moments of our lives. Your kindness, prayers, and support mean everything to us.
