Help Belize's Farmers Survive and Rebuild
Donation protected
I’ve lived in Belize for several years and have never experienced a spring like this one. Normally the rainy season starts in early May, but not this year. It’s been so hot and dry that fires are devastating the country of Belize. The district of Toledo is home to many family-run farms that are now in ruins. The farmers and the communities have fought hard, are exhausted, and have no resources to begin again.
I will collect as much as possible and rely on the village councils and trusted colleagues to help distribute whatever I raise. I will not require the farmers to spend it in a certain way. They must first feed their families and workers and then start to rebuild little by little. It will take a long time and they need money to survive in the meantime.
Please help if you can.
