I am devastated to share that my beloved sister, Becky, is currently fighting for her life in the hospital. On Friday, May 22, she was the victim of a brutal attack in Portland, OR. She was severely beaten and sustained a catastrophic blunt-force head injury that shattered her skull.

Becky was rushed to the emergency room and remains unconscious, in critical condition. She faces a long, uncertain road ahead in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). While the police have the suspect in custody, our focus now must entirely be on Becky's survival and recovery.

Anyone who knows Becky knows she is a vibrant, kind, and deeply loving person who always shows up for others. Now, she needs us to show up for her.

Our parents are both deceased, so it is up to me, her sister Jenny, to care for her and manage everything. I have taken time off from my job to stay by her bedside in the hospital. Because I am the sole earner in my household, taking this necessary time off results in an immense financial strain.

The medical bills are already mounting rapidly, covering critical care, surgeries, and specialized neurological treatments. They believe that Becky will regain consciousness, but it is impossible to foresee what deficits she will be left with. Once Becky stabilizes, she will require extensive long-term rehabilitation and housing support.

We are setting an initial fundraising goal of $35,000 to cover her immediate, emergency expenses. While we know her long-term medical costs will be significantly higher, this starting goal will help us handle the most urgent financial burdens right now.

I will be personally managing 100% of these funds to ensure they go directly toward Becky's care and survival through this crisis.
