Help Bear ~ Andrew Bear Tyler

I'm Cindy Engle, founder of Marquette Music Scene and Music Hall of Fame, and I'm doing this GoFundMe for my friend Andrew "Bear" Tyler.

Times get tough on people sometimes, and this past week Bear's 2009 Nissan Altima had a bit of a freak occurence causing the engine to blow. This is a devastating blow to Bear as he needs his car to be able to pay his bills and continue what he considers his civic duty.

We're trying to raise $2500 so he can either replace the engine (a mechanic found him a deal) or purchase a reliable vehicle.

Anything raised over that amount will be committed to helping Bear continue his volunteer work in the community.

Bear has been giving back to the community the majority of his adult life. Recently he came aboard Marquette Music Scene to help formally organize, expand, and help create a sustainable Music Hall of Fame. He also serves on the Marquette Area Blues Society Board of Directors with me (Bear is the youngest director), and sings with the Marquette Male Chorus.

You've probably seen Bear somewhere be it running security, in the media promoting the aformentioned organizations or the Historic Vista Theater, Mr. Upper Peninsula (which he is a co-creator), various music events for local businesses and more. If there's a major local event, especially if it's non-profit, you're probably going to find him somewhere in the mix.

In all of this Bear has either been a dedicated volunteer or accepted below poverty level wages, so like many of us Bear has no savings to be able endure this kind of sudden expense. We all go through rough patches in our lives, and sometimes we need someone to reach out and help pull us through.

Bear has given so much to the community I truly hope the community can come together and help him in this time of need.
