Help B-boy Mondo a Texas legend
Donation protected
If you haven’t noticed, our very own Coach Mondo has been quietly fighting some health issues that have restricted his ability to move and teach.
Because he can’t teach, income has been strained and doctor visits have been unavoidable. Mondo just wants to recover and do what he does best - inspire through dance and instruction.
Every donation over $25 will receive a limited B-Boy Mondo tshirt produced by B-Boy City! If you didn't know, Mondo is known around the world as a Texas b-boy legend due to his original style and contributions to the culture for over 20 years. If you donate $25 or more, please include your requested t-shirt size.
Thank you!

From Mondo:
“I had something called H pilori awhile back and it destroyed the inner liner of my stomach. It also caused ulcers, really bad acid reflex and gerd. My doctor thinks I a have a hiatal hernia in my esophagus.
Once my body goes into that fight or flight mode from the stomach and esophagus issues it triggers the Vagus nerve. Every move my body makes has my heart start pounding and it feels like I’m having a heart attack. It’s so painful it brings me to the floor.
My doctor wants me to see a G.I specialist and get another Barium swallow and also an endoscopy to check if I do have a hernia and if it's big enough for surgery. Also to check if I have barrets esophagus which is a pre cancer sign.
Unfortunately my insurance is limited so the doctor and hospital bills have reached a point where it’s difficult to know how I will be able to cover the next procedures.
I'm in this support group with people that have the same symptoms and a lot of them can't live normal lives anymore. I’m hungry but I can't eat. I lose muscle mass because I can’t hold food down. I'm at my lowest weight now because of my food restrictions. I'm not able to train as hard because my body doesn't have the fuel it needs. Because my livelihood depends on the condition of my body, this definitely makes day to day life hard but I try to do it with a smile most of the time. I'm grateful I don't have it as bad as others and just happy to still be able to have another day. It's difficult to ask for help but I'm grateful to have amazing people surrounding me and that helps. ”
