Help Basim & Hla Start a New Life after Fleeing the War

AN UPDATE:
Hey everyone,
Great news!
We got our visa to go to Canada!
We’re now planning our big move, and we can’t do it without your support.
Thanks so much for having our back until now, and we’d love it if you could keep supporting us.
Help our kids have a better future.
Thanks again for all your support!
Warm Greetings,
We are the family of Basim and Hla, both pharmacists, with two children, Kareem (7 years old) and Mohammed (4 years old). We are from G
aza, Palestine, and we endured six months of the ongoing war in Gaza. We fled to Egypt, fearing for our children's safety. Kareem is in the first grade but has missed an entire school year due to the conflict. In Egypt, we do not have residency permits and cannot enroll him in any school.
We wish to relocate to Canada and are currently waiting for our visas. We have no source of income, and life in Egypt requires a significant amount of money for rent, food, and medical care. Additionally, the journey to Canada requires substantial funds for plane tickets and initial living expenses until my wife and I can secure jobs there.
We are in desperate need of your support. Currently, we need funds for living expenses as we have been left without income, and prices continue to rise
- 400$ per month to rent the house at Egypt until we have our visas
• 600$ per month for life expenses and food at Egypt
• 1000$ for flight tickets for person ( total for 4 persons > 4000$)
• 3000 $ per month to rent the house at Canada
• Other expenses for education, food, health and life essentials
A message from the organizer:
Hello. I am Bessan, a Gazan Palestinian Canadian who lives in Ontario, Canada. I am organizing this fundraiser to help my brother Basim and his family cover life expenses in Egypt, as Basim lost his only source of income. Also, they need funds to help them in resettlement in Canada soon.
As a Canadian citizen who lives in Canada, I have applied for Basim and his family for temporary travel visas to come to Canada. The process of obtaining their visas has started since January 2024. The waiting process is long and complicated, but they know it is the only way to ensure a better future for their children. As time passed and they approached getting visas to Canada, they began to feel that the new life they dreamed of was within reach.
Please consider sharing and spreading the word. Every donation counts and helps.
Basim, Hla and I thank you in advance for your compassion and support.
With warm gratitude
