Hi my name is Yongbei Tang, I'm the fundraiser

**On August 5th, Barry — a Chinese international student studying in Hobart , his Chinese name is Xin Wang— was the victim of a horrific and unprovoked assault by a group of teenagers in the Northgate area.**

Barry(XIn Wang) suffered a **skull fracture** and was left in a **deep coma** as a result of the attack. He is currently in the hospital in critical and stable condition, and doctors are still assessing the full extent of the damage. His recovery is expected to be long, uncertain, and incredibly difficult — both physically and emotionally.

Barry ( XIn Wang) came to Australia to pursue his education and dreams. Like many international students, he worked part-time jobs to cover his tuition, rent, and daily living expenses. Now, he cannot work, study, or care for himself, and his family is overseas, facing enormous emotional and financial stress.

We are launching this fundraiser to support Barry during this crisis. All donations will go directly toward:

* Urgent medical care and rehabilitation

* Long-term recovery support

* Rent and living expenses while he is unable to work

* Legal or emergency costs related to the incident

* Support for his family as they try to come to Australia to be with him

Barry ( Xin Wang) is kind, humble, and full of potential. He did not deserve this. No student — no person — should ever go through something so violent and traumatic.

I（Yongbei Tang) am the organizer of the fundraiser. Here is a little more information about myself. I moved to Australia from China 29 years ago I have lived in Tasmania for 26 years, and my 3 children were born and grew up here. I have been running a Chinese language media called Chinese News Tasmania for 16 years. As a Chinese social media influencer and a well-known figure in the Tasmania Chinese community, I think that we should do something for our brother Barry(his Chinese name is Xin Wang), who is a victim and far away from his home in China. Barry ( XIN WANG) is the person who will receive all of the donations. The funds will be transferred into Barry's bank account and will be used to cover medical expenses as well as ongoing recovery costs.
