Help Baby T recover!
A dear friend of mine is stepping up to an incredible challenge, and I’m starting this GoFundMe to help her with it:
A few weeks ago, she received a desperate call from a close relative: A baby was born prematurely, suffering from severe health issues, and she was confronted with the decision to either help the young child or let it go into the foster system. She decided to help the baby, to foster him with the hopes of being able to adopt him.
The young boy spent his first weeks in the ICU, suffering from severe withdrawal symptoms and was put on heavy medication, hooked to tubes, with no one to hold and comfort him. Fortunately for the young child, the doctors were able to surgically remove a life-threatening colon blockage. (Please note that I can’t go into further details here, including names, as the baby is still under guardianship of the state)
Now, that the young boy’s health got stabilized, she got to hold him the first time and she instantly knew they were both met for each other. She also was finally able to take him home. Overnight she became a single mom - while still running her own business.
I’m doing this GoFundMe to help her with the upcoming expenses of raising the child. Due to his sensory issues, it is of highest importance that she spends as much time with him to help him overcome what he went through. As a single mom with a newborn, she won’t be able to work full time for several months now. And while the state covers some of his medical and therapy expenses, it is not enough for her to go through this on her own.
I feel that the greatest thing we can do for her right now is to allow her to stay home for a few months to help him feel safe and loved in his new home, in peace.
As humans, we can all come together to make this little miracle baby have the best home he possibly can have here on earth.
