Help baby Cam following medical emergency
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Shelly and I am Cam's Grandma. Cam was just diagnosed with "Infantile Spasms" which is much more serious than it sounds. Thankfully, with medical advancements and treatment, we are very hopeful that he will have a good recovery.
However, for the next 3 months he will need constant care and monitoring as he begins his treatment plan. He will be unable to be in daycare during this time. This will require his Mother Riley to leave her full-time job with no pay as that was used for her maternity leave. This will create a great financial burden on their family.
In addition to losing her paycheck, the initial emergency room visit with Cam was denied as they couldn’t pinpoint what was wrong with him. It is unknown how much Cam’s treatment will cost, but it involves several follow ups with the Neurologist and it is anticipated that Riley’s medical coverage will not cover a large amount of his care.
At this time, Cam’s family will be offering all of the emotional and financial support we can. We want Cam’s parents, Riley and Sam to be able to focus all of their energy on Cam’s recovery and not be overwhelmed with the anxiety that financial uncertainty can bring.
Infantile spasms that are not detected early enough can lead to very severe health issues as the child continues to develop. Severe forms of epilepsy, autism, and developmental delays can occur. Life span can be greatly diminished. We are hoping that because we noticed symptoms early on and took him to the pediatrician, that we have improved his chances of a full recovery and leading a healthy, happy life. We will not have an answer for that for a few weeks.
Any donation to offset the loss of wages and medical care would be greatly appreciated. As you can imagine, the financial stress on top of the fears around Cam’s health are quite overwhelming right now. Thank you so much for any support offered.
