Hi my name is Jon. I am raising funds for our grand daughter Azri. Below is her Mom’s narrative to give you a glimpse of Azri’s journey.
A Story of God’s Love and Grace: Azri’s Journey
How do we even begin to share our daughter Azri’s story? Why does such a young child have to endure so much pain? These past weeks have been the hardest for our family, yet through it all, we have felt the Presence of GOD, The Most High God hears our prayers and helped us even if were undeserving and unworthy of His attention.
Azri was born with a congenital heart condition called tof ( tetralogy of fallot ) where there are 4 deffects concerning her heart. Last December 7 we noticed her extra ordinary heavy breathing with squeaky sounds and her nose bled and we rushed her to a nearby hospital , despite treatments and medical management her condition did not improve thats why she was transferred via ambulance to The Philippine Heart Center where the best of the best doctors are…
Inside Pediatric ICU of PHC i held her cold little hand as I stared at the monitor tracking her vital signs. I called the doctor, thinking it was just an issue with the machine. But to my horror, the doctor immediately began CPR on Azri. My heart broke into pieces as I called out for my husband, Iric, who had stepped out of the room. She suddenly went into cardiac arrest ..a moment that shook us to our core..All I could do that time was to cry out to God:
“Lord, please. Not Azri. Don’t take my baby away.”
Psalm 121: 2 “ My help comes from The Lord, Who made heaven and earth “
Azri was revived, but just 30 minutes later, she went into cardiac arrest again. She was rushed into an emergency heart surgery to save her life, and all we could do was pray. That day, we prayed like we had never prayed before, begging God for another chance to be better parents to Azri and to allow her to live and share Gods goodness and faithfulness .
Psalm 118 : 8-9 “ It is better to trust IN THE LORD than to put confidence in man. “
The Many Challenges Azri Faced
After her surgery, Azri’s journey was far from over. She faced multiple complications:
• Thick blood caused by low oxygen levels, high red blood cell and hematocrit counts, and low platelets, making her condition even more critical.
• Clinical-diagnosed tuberculosis (TB), which increased the risks during her recovery.
• A tet spell brought on by a viral infection, leading to cardiac arrest.
• Complications from her hemangioma, which further complicated her pre-surgery condition.
• Severe swelling in her airway caused by prolonged use of a ventilator—a miracle in itself that her airway was not paralyzed.
• Weakness on the left side of her body and difficulty maintaining head stability due to gaps in her brain.
If that wasn’t enough, she had ongoing bleeding after her initial surgery, which required a second operation called Mediastinal Exploration. In total, Azri went into cardiac arrest four times. She’s just one year old, but she fought with the heart of a warrior.
The Miracle of Healing and Recovery
Today, Azri is out of the ICU. She’s with us in a regular room, where we can hold her, talk to her, and see her smile again.and recovering well..It’s a miracle that she survived everything she’s been through—a testament to God’s power and mercy…GOD, JEHOVAH RAPHA has final say..JESUS is LORD over azrielas life…
When human reason for hope is gone..
Her journey isn’t over yet. In six months, Azri will need to undergo a total repair for her Tetralogy of Fallot. But we trust that the same God who saved her before will guide her through the next surgery.
We Ask for Your Prayers and Support
We are deeply grateful to everyone for being part of azri’s journey ,to those who has prayed for Azri and supported us during this difficult time. Still believing for miracles in covering the overwhelming azri’s hospital bills so she could go home this new year …
A Reminder for All Parents
Love your children deeply. Treasure every moment with them. Use the time God has given you to be the best parents you can be.
As Psalm 30:5 reminds us:
“For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning.”
Our tears have turned into hope because of God’s goodness. We continue to hold on to His love and promises knowing that His plans for Azri are greater than anything we could imagine.
Thank you for your love and support. Miracles still happen—and Azri is a living proof of God’s grace and mercy.
Lord God , be glorified in Azri’s life, be glorified in our situation - IN JESUS’ NAME
