Help Baby Alondra and Her Grandmother

My name is Tammy Jacobs and I am raising money for baby Alondra, who was born on 11/22/2024 in a tent and breech because her parents are homeless and battling addiction. This innocent baby girl has been fighting for her life since day one, enduring a lot of trauma. She was born breech. She was not alive when she was finally delivered and had to be resuscitated en route to the ER. Her lungs have damage from inhaling amniotic fluid during birth, and she has been given one blood transfusion so far because of a brain bleed. Her heart is requiring equipment that has metal components in or on it that can't be taken into an MRI to find out if or how much brain trauma she has, and the equipment keeping her heart working is a priority over the need for the MRI at this time. She's also been on a ventilator along with nine different medications for her heart, lungs, and brain. She has greatly improved over the last week and finally came off the ventilator but still has a long road ahead.

She will be going home with her grandmother when she is finally released from the hospital. I'm raising money to help her grandmother care for her everyday needs and medical expenses. She just transferred from Oklahoma to New Mexico and is temporarily living with her mother in a one-bedroom home and has her home furnishings in storage, waiting to get her own place. This situation is making it necessary for her to find a place immediately. She is going to need to furnish everything a baby is going to need. She has nothing, not even a car seat or crib.

Our whole family would also like to give our greatest gratitude and appreciation to the paramedics who delivered the baby in a tent and saved her life and got her to an amazing team of professional doctors and nurses at UNM Hospital NICU.
