Help support Baba's Kitchen provide food and supplies to those in need in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) Vietnam.
Since July I have witnessed my dear friend Robin Deepu, restaurant owner of Baba's Kitchen and his staff of 14, bend over backwards to do more than what could be imagined possible to supply food and supplies to the people in need in Saigon; frontline medical workers, Children's hospitals, people in isolation who have little/no access to food and to people have lost their jobs and even homes due to shutdowns.
From Aug 23rd, all residents unable to leave their homes, even for food.
He and his team are determined to support the community in hopes to relieve some of effects this lockdown has created and help the people not feel so alone in this struggle.
Robin has been supporting these efforts out of his own pocket for over a month now, and without 1 day of rest! Asking for donations to continue these efforts!
Please help support if this reaches your heart to do so. For me, Saigon was my home and I still consider my home. I am not there to support the wonderful people of Saigon that I consider my community, but Robin and his team are. I know the need and I cannot sit by and not do anything to support.
Thank you in advance for your support. ❤️ Any amount is valuable and appreciated.
Please feel to share this with anyone you know!

What are they doing:
Preparing food and delivering to those in need:
• Medical workers,
• People in isolation who cannot afford to order food (with and without Covid)
• People who have lost their employment and homes due to the "stay in place" order.
Food delivery includes:
• Meal packet deliveries ranging from 300-900 meals a day
• Bags of rice
• Baby formula and bottles
Who is doing this:
Robin Deepu owner of Baba's Kitchen and his team of 14 staff
• Staff living at restaurant to ensure operations continue and prepare meals.
• This team has become a crew known in Saigon for their efforts and ability to run a strict system that keeps people healthy in food preparation and delivery.
Situation:
From August 23rd - residents are not allowed to leave their homes, even for food.
• Saigon is under strict "no movement" orders leaving with barricades and officials enforcing people to stay in place in efforts to stop the spread of Covid.
• Since Aug 23 - now all residents not allowed to leave home.
(previously only people in isolated areas in HCM were banned from leaving home, now all residents)
• Operations are shutdown for all industries except (11) specified sectors with strict approval and safety requirements to meet and receive approval. Leaving many unemployed.
• This is a whole other situation there than our shutdown in the USA.
street vendors and street markets have been closed for a month now, and continue for another month.
