Two children. No home. No income. A family in Gaza needs support!
Hello everyone,
We are Tareq and Aysha, parents to Ayham (6) and Mila (3).
One night in October 2023, we were forced to flee our home in Rafah, leaving everything behind. It was bombed to rubble.
After a month living in a small tent, gathering basics from mattresses to cups, the area was bombed as well. We packed our kids and fled to Hamad City in Khan Younis, buying a new tent and building a new shelter. Only to have to flee again a month later, and again this year in July. Now we live in a tent that lacks the most basic necessities of life, under extreme weather conditions as the seasons change, which means constantly fixing the tent.
- Aisha and I have always strived to build a home for our little family, filled with love, peace, and laughter. A home full of hope, education, and dreams of a better future for our children.
- I am a social worker, a profession I loved deeply and dedicated myself to for years. Aisha is a pharmacist. But everything has changed. War doesn't just destroy buildings; It crushes livelihoods and dreams. It robs people of security, dignity, and too often, hope.
We are now unemployed, and the life we worked so hard to build is slipping through our fingers. We struggle daily to keep our children alive, healthy, and emotionally supported under conditions no parent should ever face. To maintain a sense of purpose, we now serve the small community we’ve built around us.
- Ayham is the oldest, full of curiosity and questions. He loves to draw and dreams of becoming an engineer.
- Mila is always cheerful and smiling, even though she doesn't understand the chaos around her. She never knows kindergarten or fun playdates with friends.
Our children need proper nutrition and warm clothes and shoes for their growing bodies, toys that support learning and education, psychological support to grow up without fear, and a dry, safe tent to sleep in.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can offer.
- Why are we asking for your help?
We are not asking for luxury, but for survival, for the right to raise our children with dignity. Every small donation, every act of kindness, could mean an extra meal on the table, a peaceful night's sleep without hunger or fear, and another smile from a child who hasn't smiled in weeks.
My wife and I have always believed in working hard to achieve what we have, and it never occurred to us that we would one day need the generosity of strangers. But now, we have no choice. We are asking for help not out of weakness, but out of love for our children and a desperate hope that someone, somewhere, will see our humanity.
