A wheelchair vehicle for our gorgeous boy Axel

We are the proud parents of 3 gorgeous children Charli, Aria (deceased due to illness) and Axel.

Axel has IQSEC2 which is a rare genetic disease that's a non curable/treatable disease, he has uncontrolled seizures and respiratory compromise, means that his condition is life threatening.

Axel’s future remains uncertain he is still unable to put pressure on his legs, stand, walk, has global development and intellectual delays and is non-verbal. He has also regressed back down to only pureed foods due to dysphagia (difficulties in swallowing) choking episode and having a high chance he could aspirate. Axel has now been diagnosed with CVI (Cerebral visual impairment sometimes called cortical visual impairment) which is a disorder caused by damage to the parts of the brain that process vision, Collagenous colitis a rare disease of the large bowel and collagenous gastritis a rare disease of the stomach, he has been diagnosed with uncontrolled epilepsy (Drug resistant) and suffers from four types of seizures and can have up to 30 seizures a day. In February 2023 Axel had surgery to get his PEG (Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy) put in to help with feeds and medication.

I am hoping to raise around $50,000 to afford to purchase a vehicle that can be modified for a wheelchair or to purchase a vehicle that is already modified. Without access to this type of vehicle, both myself and my husband Raymond are at risk of significant injuries and exacerbation of current injuries lifting Axel in and out of his car seat. This is becoming increasingly unsafe for us and for Axel. Axel is currently using a carrot car seat, as it is the best car seating option for him due to his disability however due to the size of the seat and Axels height his feet are currently cm away from touching the front passenger seat making it unsafe for him to travel and our current car is not able to be modified
