Help Austins Family Afford Eye Surgery
Donation protected
Austin is my younger cousin who lives in Ecuador; he is only nine years old and lives with his mom. When Austin was only six months old he was diagnosed with congenital glaucoma; since then, he has had six surgeries and is having his seventh. They placed a valve called Ahmed's Valve during his last surgery, but this valve is poorly located, and a probe is damaged. This new surgery will be to change the catheter and relocate the valve; they will also be placing an amniotic membrane. Although Austin has little vision in this eye, this surgery will help lower the pressure in his eye, avoid infection, reduce the pain and ensure his eye does not grow abnormally.
The money being raised is to help his family pay for his hospital stay, surgery and aftercare.
