Help Austin Rebuild Resurrection Woodworks
This morning, my friend Austin woke up to his woodshop and vehicle in flames. Austin is a local here in Seward and the owner of Resurrection Woodworks, a small business he started after learning the trade from his father, Tommy, who passed away from brain cancer in May 2023.
The shop that burned down was more than just a building—it was a space where Austin and his dad worked together. The materials and tools lost are expensive but replaceable.. but the shop itself was deeply sentimental. Unfortunately, the fire destroyed everything inside, and insurance won’t cover the loss of the shop or its contents.
Anyone who knows the Gillespie family knows how much they’ve been through in the past few years. I’m hoping our community can rally around them once again and show Austin some love as he picks up the pieces and works to rebuild.
Thanks to generous neighbors, Austin has already found a temporary space to keep creating. This GoFundMe is specifically to help him replace his tools so he can get back to doing what he loves as soon as possible. The value of his tools alone is about $50,000, so it will take a while to replace what has been lost.
If you’re not in a place to give financially but have tools, materials, or other resources that might help, please don’t hesitate to reach out. The family is already thankful to all who have reached out and offered a hand. Every bit of support is deeply appreciated!
