Help Austin MN Get New Pickleball Courts

Tax deductible
Would you enjoy having free pickleball courts in Austin, Minnesota? I know I would! On behalf of the Austin Minnesota Area Pickleball Association (AMAPA), I am excited to present a unique opportunity to support the growing community of pickleball enthusiasts in our area. We are seeking donations to fund the construction of new pickleball courts in Austin, Mn., which will serve as a hub for healthy activity, social interaction, and community building.

About Us

AMAPA is a non-profit organization (501c3 status) dedicated to promoting the sport of pickleball here in our community. Our mission is to provide accessible, high-quality facilities where people of all ages and skill levels can enjoy the game. Through organized events, training programs, and open play times, we strive to foster a love for pickleball and an active lifestyle among our members and the community at large.

The Need for New Courts

Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in the United States, and our community is way behind the curve! Currently, Austin has 3 courts at the YMCA (need to be a member) and two tennis courts with painted lines for pickleball at Paulson courts. A true outdoor pickleball facility is very much needed in a town of our size. To address this issue and accommodate our growing membership, we are planning to construct 8 new pickleball courts.
Project Details
• Location: Centennial Park across from the Marcussen park baseball field.
• Number of Courts: 4 to 8….hopefully 8!
• Estimated Cost: $350,000
• Timeline: Construction could happen as soon as 2025 if we get enough funds.

So far we have raised close to 50,000 dollars through generous donations from individuals and local businesses. Some of those businesses include the Eagles, Astrups Family Foundation, Hormel Foods, Akkerman, American Legion Post 91, Culvers, Accentra, Qdoba, Greg Meyer State Farm, Potach and Mitchell Dental, Noon Lions, Running, Southwest Auto Sales, and Pizza Ranch.

We are working with the Parks and Recreation board regarding the construction and funding.

Benefits to the Community
Health and Wellness: Encouraging physical activity and providing a fun way for people to stay fit.
Social Interaction: Offering a space for people to meet, socialize, and build friendships.
Youth Engagement: Providing a safe and positive environment for young people to learn and play.
Community Events: Hosting tournaments, clinics, and events that bring people together.

How You Can Help

Pickleball is a blast and it will be free for the community once we build it. Please help support in any way you can!
