Hi everyone, if you don’t know me, my name is Atlanta Ross and I’m a single mother to a 10 year old, almost 11 year, boy - Kayden.
Friday night we experienced something out of a nightmare. The apartment building next to ours caught on fire suddenly and that fire quickly spread to our building. Kayden was luckily having a sleepover at his Mimi’s house so he did not have to witness this traumatic experience. We are both okay health wise, but emotionally we are completely devastated.
Unfortunately, now we have been completely displaced from our home. We were able to salvage some things. Just things that can be washed to remove smoke and water damage. But we need to now replace the rest of everything.
As a single mother who works full time, is the PTA president at my son’s school, and receives $11.55 a week in child support, starting over is going to be extremely difficult. Down payments / security deposits, replacing food, toiletries, furniture, and just the essentials like tooth pastes and tooth brushes - everything just adds up.
We were lucky enough to receive $600 from the Red Cross to help with immediate expenses, but that will only go so far. Any donation you can make will help us rebuild our lives and I will be forever grateful! And every share of this gofundme will help our story reach those I am not friends with on Facebook. So please if you cannot donate, share our story with our community.
I am incredibly grateful and so blown away by those who have reached out and helped already. You guys are truly amazing and I couldn’t have asked for a better community to be a part of. Please keep the positive vibes, the prayers, and the kindness coming. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! ❤️
